I used this in blender for ages. It's called shrinkwrap in blender. It's perfect for highpoly subdiv modelling on simple shapes. It can also be used non destructively in blender.
For shapes like the one in 10:38 though, it's much more effective to either use boolean, or use boolean for basic shapes and use projection for support poly loops around shapes. I often cutout shapes and do knife projection of support loops (similar to simply projectin edges on a surface, except it kut them in like a knife tool).
In blender, there is also an options to add extruding shapes non destructively like this by combining projecting support loop and DataTransfer (for tranfering normal data from source mesh to target).
All of the above is also parts of the algorithm used by kitbash plugins like "Polystein Kit". The most advanced version of this workflow is DECALmachine for blender, i think.

you are like the 3d equivalent of natural geniuses like Leonardo da Vinci or Vincent van Gogh. Like watching supernatural activity. Too good.

I'm working with 3ds Max literally form version 1. Before that it was called 3d Studio and it was working under DOS system. Yes. i'm old, but not that old since i was very, very young when Max came out 🙂 Anyway, my point is…from time to time i have to Google for some specific tips and trick, specially when you don't use them often and Arrimus's tuts or lets call them tips are awesome. So thank you, i really much appreciate your time and efforts 🙂 Here's some old school 3d studio, just for fun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BayZZQFFO_s

There is a great third party solution for 3ds-max "Modifier: WrapAndConform".

This is similar to how Shrinkwrap works in Blender.

Question Arrimus: have you use Substance Designer?

I like how you also always show how you resolve a mesh when showing off these tooltips.

Also, you can use relax brush from the same section of freeform modeling, to get rid of “bad tension” and distortions of the mesh while still conforming mesh to your base curvature model

An advice: We can hide unwanted polygones for conform brush.

Also how did you select multiple polygones in 4.29 ?
    Thank you!
