Joining Chris for this week’s podcast is Andrew Price — AKA the guru of Blender Guru. He also talks about Poliigon, the CG asset site he founded, and the future of Blender.

I really liked the idea from Andrew to have a beginning tutorial before getting started with the software.

I wish there was a Sketchfab for Blender. You can take all the features add-ons things only Blender can make but difficult to export. Something you can show to clients. You would have a timeline but no keyframes, you can move the viewport but you can't animate the camera. Stuff like that.

58:50 Yeah, that's the psychological game I play with myself while rendering scenes in Blender. When I decrease the tile size to it's minimum, watching it go quickly is so satisfying that I always like to watch it till happening till the end.

Also guys, don't get me wrong in this but please don't name your shows starting with CG. It's a whole lot of confusion while keeping track of everyone.

55:30 Just being curious if render is also platform dependent. Just like once CG Geek did a video on Blender running on Windows vs Linux where Linux turns out to be the fastest in comparison to a lot of not most of times, including the render times. Also, I haven't seen this myself but people usually ignores the OS they use but I think this is the point that must be included while doing a render test. What you say CG Garage?

Andrew please, try to tell this people how blender is an established reality in the industry now, great movies like "Prospect" wouldn't even have been possible without it. I really appreciate you efforts to bring this conversation at a 2020 reality level Andrew and would have appreciated more if your answers wouldn't have been interrupted that often. I can see your story brings up a lot of impostor syndromes and inferiority complexes on these guys, even here in the comments… Your humility has brought you further than the whole of them.
