2-3 Using Alphas Effectively, Focal Shift Affects the edge of an alpha, Zbrush hotkey, Alpha basics

Hi everyone,

This video show you how to use Alphas Effectively, and how Focal Shift affects the edge of an Alpha.

Using a normal brush (Clay), Stroke should be set to “Drag Rectangle” so that you have the full control on your brush stroke and the size of alpha when it is dragged out. You can also use No.8 Brush (Press 8 on the left side of your keyboard) if you have the Custom Hotkeys already set following my layout.

Feel free to change the alpha for when using this brush. Notice how the Focal Shift of the brush, affects how each brush stroke edge, and in the case, the alpha image’s edge, when it is dragged out:

Harsh = -100
Neutral = 0
Soft = 100
